What is Stage 2 Breast Cancer?

Advanced breast cancer can spread to the lymph nodes, an essential part of the body's immune system and drainage system.
Lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped structures located throughout the body, housing white blood cells.

Why it Matters

These Lymph nodes are an important part of preparing your immune system to fight off infection. When breast cancer spreads to the lymph nodes it means the cancer has spread from the primary tumor and is at least stage 2. Lymph node involvement is commonly assessed during surgery or through imaging studies.

Rocky Road

The Rocky Road Collection is based on microscopic imagery of Stage Two Breast Cancer, or Breast Cancer Spreading to the Lymph nodes.
Staging and Planning: Cancer staging helps determine if it has spread to other nearby lymph nodes, or if it has spread to distant organs. If breast cancer spreads, it typically goes first to lymph nodes under the arm.

Spread of Cancer Cells: When cancer cells break away from the primary tumor, they can enter the lymphatic system and be spread to nearby lymph nodes. If cancer cells are found in the lymph nodes, it indicates the cancer has potential to spread further in the body through the lymphatic system or the bloodstream

Treatment Intensity: Lymph node involvement often leads to more aggressive treatments as it has a higher risk of recurrence. Different treatments may be recommended to target any remaining cancer cells to reduce risk of recurrance.
