What is Stage One Breast Cancer?

Stage 1 breast cancer is an early stage of breast cancer where the tumor is relatively small and has not spread beyond the breast tissue. In this stage, cancer cells are usually confined to the area where the abnormal cells first began to develop.

How is it Treated?

Treatment for stage 1 breast cancer may involve surgery to remove the tumor, radiation therapy, or sometimes chemotherapy. Each treatment plan will depend on various factors, including the type of breast cancer, the tumor's characteristics, and the individual's overall health.

Pink Peril

The Pink Peril collection is based off this microscopic image of Stage One Breast Cancer.

Stage one breast cancer typically starts with the development of abnormal cells within the breast tissue. Imagine the breast as a complex landscape of cells, each with its own role. In this environment, a mutation can occur in a cell's DNA, causing it to behave differently than its healthy counterparts.
The process begins quietly, with a single abnormal cell multiplying to form a small cluster. As cells accumulate, they may form a localized tumor. At stage one, this tumor is small and confined to the breast tissue. It hasn't invaded surrounding tissue or spread to other parts of the body.
Early detection becomes critical at this point. Regular screenings can uncover these small tumors before they have a chance to grow or spread further. Without detection the cancer may become far more dangerous.
